Senior Designer - Creative

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Senior Designer, Branded Environments at SLD you are responsible for delivering the highest standard of creative with which to represent the company. It is your role to provide strategically based design solutions that inspire, innovate, and challenge the objectives of the client brief.

JOB DETAILS:

We are looking for a conceptual designer who has strategy/retail/foodservice experience. The designer would work on any new concepts that come into the studio. They need to have experience in understanding positioning and branding and must be able to design to that type of brief. Once the concept is locked, the designer must be able to work on and direct a small team that would create the working drawings.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Project lead
• Translate strategy and positioning into design concepts
• Sketch and conceptualize designs in two and three dimensions
• Provide strategic design rational for all creative
• Develop the creative portion/rationale of the client presentation
• Develop design solutions that both inspire, challenge and meet the objectives of the brief
• Attend client presentations to present creative & have a POV
• Ensure that the project stays on track, strategically, time wise and budget wise
• Act as a senior resource for studio giving input on details/creative
• Ability to manage your time and effectively manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities, meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure
• Ability to work with a variety of clients, and capable of managing complex projects
• Maintain a positive attitude and represent the company in a professional manner
• Develop design details into supporting working drawings & millwork drawings
• Prepare renderings and presentation materials as required to communicate the design concept
• Ensure that budgetary needs and creative objectives are achieved for each and every project
• Lead and help manage support team on drawings and details
• Ensure the quality, accuracy and code compliance of all contract documents created in the design studio
• Thorough understanding of interior & exterior signing materials and construction techniques

Experience & Skills:

• Minimum 8 years industry experience (retail/foodservice)
• Excellent communications, both written and verbal English and Mandarin as well as interpersonal skills
• Must be highly organized and able to work efficiently on multiple projects
• Proficiency in software applications such as AutoCad, Word, Excel and Acrobat as well as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Sketch Up
• Excellent knowledge of the building code
• Diploma or Degree in Interior Design or accredited university institution

Someone who is able to confidently assert themselves in a well-established team, who is flexible and responsive, and has an appreciation for the creative process and the importance of great design to solve business problems.
